"Uncle Vanya" at Atlantic Acting School Conservatory

November 5, 2017

I am composing the music and doing the sound design for the a production of Uncle Vanya as performed by the Conservatory students at Atlantic Acting School.

It is an exciting production as I am back with my team of regular collaborators: Director Anya Saffir, Costume Designer Katja Andreiev and Set Designer Kristen Robinson. I'm also working with Lighting Designer Oona Curley and Assistant Director Sam Gonzalez.

Anya has thoughtfully put together this production and fleshed out the production with "time lapses" between the acts, articulating the Scenes From a Country Life Aspect of the page making room for the designers to embellish while staying true to Chekhovian theater elements.

Here is some of the music from the show. These piano pieces were played between the acts and would cover tableaus of scenes that happen between the act (they also accommodated set changes).
